Yemen International Agency for Development Launches Education Support Project for 1,000 Displaced Students in Marib

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance education opportunities and support displaced students in Yemen, the Yemen International Agency for Development launched an education support project in Marib Governorate for displaced secondary school students. The project is held under the patronage of the Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Marib, Sheikh Sultan bin Ali Al-Arada, and funded by the Islamic Development Bank and the International Islamic Relief Organization through the “STEP” program.

The project targets 1,000 male and female students from Marib, Taiz, Hodeidah, and Shabwa governorates. It comes within humanitarian and development interventions aimed at enabling vulnerable groups to continue their education and ensuring the continuity of the learning process despite the challenges facing the education sector in displacement areas.

The initiative provides students with modern tablet devices connected to an integrated supervisory and educational system, enabling academic performance tracking and enhanced interaction with educational content. This contributes to improving academic achievement and strengthening students’ digital and language skills.

The project also aims to reduce school dropout rates by providing modern learning tools that support students in continuing their education in a more stable and flexible environment, while enhancing their educational and cognitive development.

The Yemen International Agency for Development emphasized that this project aligns with its vision of prioritizing education as a humanitarian and development priority, noting that investing in displaced and orphaned children’s education is a key step toward sustainable development.
