NAS Community Support Association, in cooperation with the Yemen International Agency for Development, organized a specialized training workshop on governance in humanitarian organizations. The workshop was implemented as part of joint efforts aimed at strengthening institutional performance and enhancing the capacity of professionals working in the humanitarian sector.
The workshop was delivered by Dr. Abdulwasi’ Al-Wasi’i, Secretary-General of NAS Community Support Association. It addressed the core concepts of good governance and highlighted its importance in improving the quality of humanitarian work, strengthening trust between institutions and beneficiary communities, and achieving institutional sustainability while maximizing development impact.
The workshop focused on several key themes, including principles of transparency and accountability, sound decision-making mechanisms, and the importance of clear organizational structures. It also reviewed best practices and practical experiences that contribute to improving the administrative and financial efficiency of humanitarian organizations.
Interactive discussions were held among participants, during which experiences were exchanged and challenges facing humanitarian organizations in applying governance standards were examined. Participants also explored ways to overcome these challenges in order to enhance the quality of implemented programs and projects, and to strengthen the confidence of partners and donors.
This workshop is part of a series of activities and programs implemented by the Yemen International Agency for Development, in line with its vision to build the capacities of humanitarian sector professionals and enable institutions to adopt good governance standards, thereby serving target communities more effectively and efficiently.
Organizers emphasized the importance of continuing such specialized training programs, given their significant role in advancing humanitarian work, strengthening institutional performance, and achieving sustainable impact that positively reflects on beneficiary communities.
